Baton Rouge Experiences 13 Consecutive Months Of Improving Home Sales

Baton Rouge area home sales have been up every month over previous year figures for 13 consecutive months, according to data released today by the GBR MLS. Final June 2012 figures released today and show a 14% increase in area home sales over June 2011. 779 homes were sold in the MLS in June 2012, with 684 sold in the same month last year.
The latest figures demonstrate the continued strength of the Baton Rouge area market. The national market is improving, as well. The National Association of REALTORS® recently released June sales figures that showed a 4.5% increase in sales nationally.
Houses are spending less time on the market, down to an average 103 days in June. Days on market has declined for three straight months, according to the MLS, yet another indication that the local housing market is healthy and home sales are brisk.“
