DENHAM SPRINGS — A large sewer expansion south of the city has gone into operation, according to city officials.
All of the pumping stations are operating, and only “punch list” work remains, said Ted York, the engineer in charge of the project for the city.
The project includes 16 miles of sewer pipe and 29 pumping stations, York said.
There are 2,433 homes and businesses along the new lines, most of which are south of Denham Springs, and about 1,800 of the structures have been hooked up to the system, so far, he said.
